Our History

Founded in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, before expanding to Dublin and now Kent, UK, Runway Modelling Academy has been empowering young people through confidence-building, creativity, and self-expression since 2008.

Established by Tolu Omoyele (also known as Tai), the academy began as a scouting and confidence-development workshop created to support young girls interested in fashion, modelling, and creative expression. What started as a small initiative has grown into a vibrant platform helping young people aged 13+ discover their strengths, build self-belief, and develop life skills through runway modelling and personal development.

At Runway Model Academy, we believe modelling is more than walking a runway; it is a powerful tool for building confidence, communication skills, discipline, self-awareness, and personal identity. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where young people can grow socially, creatively, and professionally.

Over the years, we have partnered with organisations, designers, schools, NGOs, businesses, consulates, and community groups to deliver workshops, mentoring, training, and development opportunities. Our UK collaborations include the Pow of Women Festival Thanet and the Medway African Caribbean Association, reflecting our commitment to community empowerment and inclusion.

Our impact extends beyond the runway. One of our students went on to win Poland’s Next Top Model, a proud milestone that reflects the confidence, mentorship, and personal growth we aim to inspire in every young person we work with.

At Runway Modelling Academy, confidence is at the heart of everything we do. We are passionate about helping young people embrace who they are, express themselves boldly, and step into opportunities with confidence and purpose.
